Healthy and sustainable Nordic food trending at Anuga 2025
At Anuga 2025, more than 140,000 food and beverage professionals worldwide gathered to explore industry trends and get inspired. Atria's team, with a joint Nordic presence and delicious tastings, attracted the audience and international interest.
Anuga 2025, the world's largest food and beverage trade fair, took place in Cologne, Germany, from October 4–8, 2025. The event was one of the biggest yet, with approximately 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries and visitors from almost 200 countries.
"Atria has participated in Anuga for years, and it remains one of the most important events in the industry," says Phuong Siljamäki, Export Manager at Atria.
From strategy into action at Anuga
Atria's new strategy, TOGETHER 2030, sets a clear direction for 2025–2030: to become the winning Northern European food company through collaboration, innovation, and growth. The strategy was already visible at Anuga 2025, where Atria Finland's presence with Atria Denmark embodied the spirit of cross-border teamwork. The shared stand also showcased products from both countries.
"Working together with our Danish colleagues felt natural and rewarding. Next year, Atria Finland, Denmark, and Estonia will share the stand at SIAL Paris," Siljamäki rejoices.
Smarter food for better health and future
Themes of the event included sustainable growth, alternative proteins, clean label and transparency, personalized and functional foods, and digitalization across the supply chain. "Our hybrid meat-and-plant concepts, such as the carrot sausage containing 20% carrot, received enthusiastic feedback. Purity, high quality, and animal welfare are integral to everything we do. In addition, we are a partner known for transparent information flow," mentions Siljamäki.
Atria's tasting table drew attention, especially with the creative pancake-based dishes. Traditional Finnish pancakes—plain, carrot, and spinach—were topped, for example, with carved chicken slices, sparking curiosity among visitors who were surprised to learn what the base was. Even the Italians gave thumbs-up after tasting Atria's mini pancake pizzas. The display also featured Danish salami and pepperoni.
"Previously, we've focused on exporting fresh meat. Now, we place greater emphasis on value-added, refined products, such as sausages, frankfurters, and pancakes. More ready-to-cook items are where we see most growth potential, aligning with consumer values and international trends," adds Siljamäki.
First and foremost, the atmosphere at Anuga was once again vibrant, filled with inspiring discussions with potential partners worldwide.
"Thank you to everyone who stopped by, let's stay in touch, and also thanks to our international teams—let's keep Atria's flag high!" concludes Siljamäki.
